We want everyone to feel welcome at Highland Safaris. This guide explains what to expect at our visitor centre in Dull, near Aberfeldy, and at our Loch Tay Safaris departure point.

At the Lodge

Lodge Parking and Entrance
Parking is free. Our car parks have a compact gravel surface and a slight gradient. Designated accessible parking spaces are located closest to the lodge in Car Park 1.

From these spaces, the route to the lodge is approximately 30 metres, followed by a short concrete ramp. The entrance door opens manually and has a clear width of approximately 74 cm. Please let us know if you would like help with the door.

Café and Gift Shop
The café and gift shop are on one level, with wooden flooring and a main route more than one metre wide. Seating includes chairs and fixed benches. Menus are available at tables, and our team can explain the choices or read them aloud.

Dietary Requirements
Where possible, our café caters for a range of dietary requirements, including vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free options. You can check our Café page and current menu before visiting to see the options available.

If you have a food allergy or specific dietary requirement, please speak to our team before ordering so they can explain the ingredients and preparation methods.

Toilets and Baby Changing
An accessible toilet is located inside the lodge. It has a level floor, two grab rails and a door width of approximately 82 cm. Baby-changing facilities are also available in this toilet.

Outdoor Seating
Our outdoor seating area has a level gravel surface and wooden picnic tables with fixed seating. If these tables do not suit your needs, please ask our team to help you find a comfortable place to sit.

Visitors with Visual Impairments
Our lodge has natural lighting, with additional lighting in parts of the café and shop. Staff can help with directions, explain activities and read menus aloud. Please let us know what would make your visit easier.

Assistance Dogs and Pushchairs
Assistance dogs are welcome at the lodge. Please contact us before booking an animal encounter, safari or boat trip so we can discuss suitable arrangements while considering the welfare of the deer and owls.

Pushchairs can use the main access routes described above. Outdoor gravel and grassed areas may be harder to navigate after wet weather.

Discovery Trail
The first approximately 200 metres of the Discovery Trail have a compact gravel surface and a slight gradient. Beyond this section, the surface and gradient vary. Wet weather can make the trail harder to navigate, particularly during winter. Please ask our team about current conditions before setting off.

Play Area
The play area is mainly level but grassed. Grass may be more difficult for wheelchairs, pushchairs and other mobility aids after rain. Access to individual pieces of play equipment may also vary.

Activities and Experiences

Red Deer & Barn Owl Experience
The path to the Red Deer Centre is level and approximately 122 cm wide. The centre is on one level with a concrete floor. If you use a larger mobility aid, please contact us before booking so we can check that the entrance and activity layout will work for you.

Gold & Gem Panning
The area around Gold & Gem Panning has a firm, level surface. Please contact us if you would like to discuss the activity setup before booking.

Archery and Axe Throwing
The Archery range is reached by a gravel path approximately 200 metres long. The path is wide enough for wheelchairs but slopes downhill towards the range. The return journey is uphill and can be challenging in a manual wheelchair, particularly with a heavier chair or after wet weather.

Mini Land Rovers
Mini Land Rovers are small vehicles driven by children on a designated outdoor course. Children need to be able to sit safely in the vehicle and use its controls. A parent or guardian must supervise them throughout the activity.

Course conditions can change in wet weather, and the activity may be suspended if the ground becomes unsafe. If your child needs help transferring into a vehicle or using the controls, please contact us before booking so we can discuss whether the experience will be suitable.

Land Rover Safaris
Our safaris involve stepping up into a Land Rover. A step stool will be available, but some vehicles may be easier to enter than others. Guests need to be able to transfer into a vehicle seat; our Land Rovers are not wheelchair-accessible vehicles.

Please contact us before booking to discuss transfers, mobility equipment and the most suitable safari option. A Private Charter may offer greater flexibility for your group.

Bespoke Events and The Hilltop Marquee
Access arrangements for bespoke events depend on the location and activities involved. A Hilltop Marquee event may involve travelling in a Land Rover and moving across outdoor ground.

Please contact us while planning your event so we can discuss vehicle transfers, the route to the marquee, seating, toilet access and any arrangements your guests may need.

Loch Tay Safaris
Loch Tay Safaris depart from Loch Tay Highland Lodges, a separate location from our lodge at Dull. The marina has parking on a pea-gravel surface and toilet facilities in the car park.

Reaching the boat involves climbing multiple steps and then stepping aboard. Once aboard, guests can remain seated throughout the trip. Please contact us before booking if you would like to discuss boarding or mobility equipment.
